Family Sponsorship

Grandparents

Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada can sponsor a spouse, conjugal or common-law partner, dependent child (including adopted children) or other eligible relative including parents and grandparents, to become a permanent resident under the Family Class immigration stream.

There are two different processes for sponsoring a family member under the Family Class. One process is used for sponsoring a spouse, conjugal or common-law partner and/or dependent children. The other process is used to sponsor other eligible relatives.

When submitting an application for permanent residence under the Family Class there are also country specific instructions depending on where the family member currently resides.

CCIC can help you by assessing your eligibility and assisting you in submitting a sponsorship for a family class application for permanent residence.
